Why? Sometimes late at night, I fall on my knees and ask God why people insist on using those EMGs.

Ugly bass, but at least it's overpriced.

From what I can remember of my first bass, EMG pickups have a really bland and sterile sound to them, at least the ones that were on the bass. Of course, I may be a bit biased here ;), but I can't remember ever being satisfied with the sound from those.

Let me tell you, calling them what you called them is giving them entirely too much credit.

Eh, Im not impressed with EMGs either. Actually, Id rather stick my tongue in a toaster than play EMG pickups. :eek:

I sold my first bass (which had EMG's) to get a passive bass. The passive bass(the Daion) blew the bass with EMG's out of the water, and it just has the stock Schaller pickups. 'Nuff said.
