Yeah man, Oscar Peterson (with Ron Carter on bass) first turned me on to Jazz in the early '70s (I was a hack piano player back then, before becoming a hack guitarist). His recordings will keep the memory alive for a long time.

My youngest son's name is Oscar. When we were deciding on names, Mr. Peterson was a plus for us in that direction.
