Torture is over cashed my PayPal check and was in out of the GC in minutes.
Just some quick pics, I fired up my Ashdown for a quick function check and see
how it likes my Amp. Tone is in a word, HUGE. I'm curious to compare the Alnico's in this to the Ceramic's of the 25th tonight. The neck has nice flame,
the Honey Burst and the dark neck go perfect. This bass for me is like comfort food. Love my 25th's but have to a have a double cut too. Definite keeper.

Thanks all, and thanks again John for getting it to Jersey. I lucked out in that they had the MM's hanging up high so there isn't any demo wear on it. I just got another half hour on it and it's tone is way different than my 25th HH, which is great. I'm not finding any drag at all on the finished neck, which was a little concern. The 2 and 4 positions are much brighter than the 1,3 & 5 which all can get deep but not muddy at all. I'm not a slapper but it doesn't seem to slap as well as the 25th's. Could be me though.
I'm really pumped to have a Ray in the fold again. Me likey.

They actually had this hanging up??!?!?

I'm shocked.

Also, you need to change your sig...:p

What color IS that nut?

The nut is black, which works, and the MOP black ringed dots look great against the dark maple. So, didn't they have this out hanging with the other MM's when you went there ? I'm going to put chrome knobs on it also. Thanks for the sig reminder, it's like not changing a voicemail message when you're back from vacation.

Very very nice. This is the same bass that is haunting me, as well. I just think it is absolutely handsome and classy looking. Let me know more about tone comparison to 25th.

I would be really surprised if this bass was left out for the masses to abuse.[/QUOTE]

Surprise, surprise. They had it right up on the wall with the other MM's, that's why I was sweating the guitar sale and then the ebay screw up sending the money to a closed PayPal account, and then waiting a week for the check.
Jeez this purchase was work, but man it was worth every second. Luckily the all the munchkins were ether too lazy to look up or get someone to get it, as it
is unscathed. Apparently it was in the cards for me.

Laneline, that is absolutely beautiful! I agree 100% with you on the MOP dots, they accentuate the beauty of the neck, unlike anything else I've ever seen. Stunning!
