Roasted Necks vs. Standard (dimensions)

I had a chance to play the roasted JP/ and Silo, great guitars and all, but found the neck to be bulkier than usual, I have a 20th Av. silo and the neck on that is slimmer than any other silo I tried, huge difference to the roasted silo neck as well.

any truth to that? I was thinking of getting a standard hsh silo but no idea what the neck profile will be.

I think the fact that it is finished not only adds just a bit of extra size but also makes the neck "feel" bigger.

Interesting. I have a 20th Silhouette and a Silhouette Special and I find their necks to be pretty much the same.

Finished necks definitely have more traction and can certainly "feel" bigger in youtpr hands. My. 02

I feels slightly bigger to me but I think it is the illusion of the finish.

don´t forget, the necks get handsanded at the final stage, so they can have slightly different sizes.
i own three regluar JP6s and they are very close but not the same at the end, the same with my Y2Ds.

I agree with Joe about the hand sanding, though however slight the difference in dimension may be one will feel bigger. Kind of a mind playing tricks on ya thing.
