my local store had 2 special Roasted neck Music Mans in... one with a killer flame neck was on a JP... the other one is an Axis and still is left in stock... the neck has a glossy finnish... wonder why the Roasted models have a finnish? not that i mind as they are super axes...

are roasted necks an option or was that a limited time thing?

As far as I can remember the finish was more of an aesthetic thing. It brought the roasted look out considerably more than the traditional finish. If you haven't tried it, you must. They feel incredible, lots of high praise for those puppies.

They were only a limited time only deal, no longer an option.

Hello WHOFAN, and Welcome to the Forum...

Now, drop everything and head right back to the G.C. to purchase the roasted maple Axis!

I have owned nine ebmm's, and the roasted neck Axis is the HOLY GRAIL of all ebmm necks. Do not miss out...

lol... ya i should buy the thing.... it's amazing... i bought a LUKE that the same store had discounted after Xmas that was right beside the roasted Axis... they had that Axis discounted a good amount too but the Luke was a real steal... and i had wanted a Luke as the V necks are great!!!! but ya that Axis is back up to full retail again... still can't believe it has not sold... i'd say in this large stores retail space they have 300 electrics in stock... and that Axis has to be one of the best in the place...

here in Canada we have no Guitar Centers yet... when i worked at a guitar store myself we heard a romour GC was planning on opening a large store just outside Toronto... so far 6 years later we have not seen them make a move north of the border...
