I need some help from my bad influences, uh I mean Knucklehead and Bongoloid friends (even if you all are only fake Internet ones) :).

I need to get in on the Roasted necks mainly because my daughter told me to. That and the ebony boards... and the roasted deliciousness of the necks... and the.... well you get the picture.

But the question is Stingray or Bongo HH?

It will be fretless and unlined but on what body I do not know.

What do you all think and why?

I was originally thinking Stingray 4HH because of digging on the new 20th SR4H.... but I'm probably going to have to let go of my Dargie II Bongo to keep the wife happy.... and the tone of the Bongo....

Help me please.... :D

Seeing as the Bongos only generally come with painted necks (with the exception of the limited run rosewood necked BFRs), it might be one of the few opportunities to get one in a different finish.

But then again, the Stingray is always a good choice too...

While the correct answer is not in your poll (BOTH of them :)), I love the idea of being able to get a Bongo with the clear finish on the neck and an ebony fretboard instead of rosewood. There is no wrong answer, but the Bongo is what I would choose if I were in your shoes. Looks like the pollsters agree with me so far (4-0 in favor of Bongo).

Did you ever have a Bongo 5 HHp?

Another perspective: If I took away all your basses (which is not an impossible event to happen ;) ), which one would you miss the most.

Bongo. Judging by how good the Bongos looked with the all-rosewood necks, I'm sure the roasted necks are going to be equally tasty. As someone else said, the chance to get a Bongo without a painted neck would make it a bit more special than the roasted Ray.

But what do I know, I ordered a Big Al.
