My very good friend, Bill Thornton, and I went out to see Ray play last night a the Hole in the Wall here in Dallas. He was playing with Brent Rozell, a local guitarist, Peabody, a wailing harp player and vocalist and their drummer, Paul.
They put an one heck of a show and Ray's MG single H Bongo was the bomb! Bill and I ended up staying later than we had planned because Ray and Paul invited us to play for them at the beginning of the third set. Bill held his own pretty well, but I was a little lost on two of the three tunes. I hope I didn't embarrass myself too badly. (I had already had a few beers and I don't drink that much anymore.)
Anyway, if you get to Dallas and you get a chance to see Ray, don't miss it!
