Isn't this the third time that Rondo has been selling that?? They got sued (and rightly so, selling a non-authorized copy) a year or so ago for selling this. Then it came up again here a couple months ago. Common sense would say that you can expect the same results (getting sued) for doing the same thing (selling copies). I'm more baffled than a folded horn 118 cab...

I'm pretty sure those vintage and staggs are licensed by the way, pretty much everywhere sells them.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking, but I was under the impression that OLP were the only manufacturers licensed to sell 'ray copies? Who can shed some light?

thre are no licenses even olp has expired

Are the staggs and vintages just subtly different enough not to get sued or something? because i don't think they've had any lawsuits against them... i dunno. Having owned two MM copies though, i can now say the real thing is so much better, and worth it.

One of the UK rip offs does not use the 3+1 tuner arrangement so that's probably why they are in the clear. I dunno how the law applies to the other one. The firm is in the UK after all.

Re: Rondo. I know nothing about what goes on behind the scenes between MM and Rondo but the fact that they keep doing this tells me that

a) They read Talkbass and despite the EBMM haters there they can infer that the same bashers secretly want an EBMM but are too cheap to pony up. Therefore Rondo knows that...
b) They will sell every SR rip off they have in stock before the Wunderhound gets to them
c) Their profits from the above are enough to cover the fines (if any) and still have enough left over for their coffers

Therefore this leads me to conclude that:
a) The fines should be increased :)
