You know, if they were just interested in putting out a budget bass with a MM sound, they'd ditch the purely cosmetic MM-style pickguard, control plate, and 3 + 1 headstock, and keep everything else.

Obviously it's not just about the sound.

That abomination @ Rondo sounds nothing like a Ray. It is actually a passive bass with two single coils very close to each other. The knobs are V,V,T.

If I were to make a guess as to what it sounds like, it will probably be close to a very trebly Jazz.

Although many will attempt to polish the turd by dropping $$$$ worth of electronics in it.

it means that the can buy the the musicman look and sound. only with an agreement with big poppa (with certain restrictions). as they produce these fine instruments they must "kick up a vig" to the godfather (big poppa). or beth will tune them up for being out of pocket.

Rondo isnt the only brand who has copied a Musicman.

Lakland's headstock shape looks very similar to Musicman Stingrays & Sterlings
