Hey guys.

I'm kind of doing some recon work for a pal of mine. He's really interested in finding a rosewood ASS w/ Hardtail, because he's going to turn it into a "tele" style guitar... i.e. putting in two twang king single coil pickups.

Do these guitars even exist? Has anyone seen one in a store anytime recently? He doesn't want to have to resort to eBay, because of some nasty experience with it. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Actually, nevermind.

Sorry guys; I'm certifiable. I did a search of some guitar shoppes in the US and A and found numerous of them available for an actually great price. Again, my apologies for being lazy and lethargic... and redundant.

I suggested that...

I actually said to him "why not just get P90s?" He replied with something about true tele tone and wanting the twang-kings. I then asked him "Why not get a tele?" to which he replied that he'd sooner gnaw off an appendage than leave EBMM for F****r. At that point, I patted him on the head and said "Good boy. We've taught you well. You can have your ASS with twang kings. You've earned it!"

He didn't appreciate my tone at all. Hahaha.

Just considering options.

I'm at the point where I want more.... but can't rationalize additional, if that makes sense. I could just accept the bounty I am afforded (I do like my triumverate) and lust for the new offerings from afar (those 20ths are sweet). Or make a choice as to which would be the most likely candidate for substitution?

I would like to place on record my congratulations to the Commander in Chief (Mr Greene) of the ALOC (Albert Lee Owners Club) on passing his 1000th post. As Head Concho, sorry Hocho, he has been a member of this forum for considerably longer than myself, and every one of his posts are awaited with baited breath by his loyal followers and acolytes.

I didn't think for one moment that he would be considering selling his AL because if he did, he would have to have his Eppilettes ripped off and his sword snapped. This would then mean the de-coder ring would be ripped from his fingers and a new secret handshake or funny walk ? would be invented by the new CIC.
As it's the Axis - carry on Sir !!!! :D :p

Caveat
On no account should Axis owners take offence at the frippery of the above, and any ambivalence to living or dead Axis owners is unintentional :D :D

I'm so embarassed to write this.

Well, we went to the music store yesterday. They had a JP6 that had just shown up from another store. I told him to play it, and enjoy it (to keep his mind off the JP7 he's waiting for) but rather than do that, he wandered over to the F****r section. I sheepishly followed him, and made a comment in passing about a neon orange Am. Deluxe Tele they had sitting there.

He played it through a Dr. Z Delta 88, and impulsively bought it. To make a long story short, he disgraced me; and I blacklisted him. I actually travelled back to 1950 and outted him as a communist as well. I suppose the only *fair* thing to do though is be happy that he's happy.

I tried my best, and failed. I'm sorry guys. :(

Mb,

I don't want you to think I'm getting on your case in any way. Believe me I know that the lure of the shiny things is difficult nay impossible to resist.
Just wanted you to know that I really like your collection of EBMM's, truth be told I'm quite covetous:rolleyes:

But if one were to be substituted ?

EVERYTHING sounds great through a Dr. Z!!!!! He should've abandoned the F*nd*r and bought the Z!!!! Hah, he'll be disappointed when he gets home :D

Playing the 2005 LE Silo Special through my Dr. Z MAZ 18 NR head + Z-Best 212 cab in between sentences. When the family goes to bed, I'll switch to the 20th Silo through my Mini-Z.

Mini-Z, you complete me.

Not at all, kinda makes me feel all proud inside that people like my set. I like it too:) Just figured I'd float the balloon a bit.

The AL stays. The Silo is growing on me. And because of the LE color each would be very hard to replace. The Rosewood, although I have extolled its virtues, is probably the most widely marketable based on the board chatter, while it is also still available as new and can be replaced If I felt I made the ultimate mistake. If the way to newer (not necessarily bigger or better) is to trade or sell, that would be the most likely. But I haven't made that decision yet. If only all of life's issues were as such.

And now Sigmunds Couch has made an interesting proposal in another thread.

I know, I know.

The Dr. Z points and the sticky neck points...

I brought them all up with my boy. He's still happier than a pig in **** with his new acquisition. I, being the fair sport about it all; told him about steel-wolling the hell out of the neck. I warned him that otherwise it'd feel like playing kinder for a fire within a week and a half. He's still willing to take his chances.

The sad news about the AL, is that although he played one and loved it; he played one through a Roland Micro-Cube. I have nothing particularly against this product persay; however it is not tube-driven, and sounds like crap. That's neither here nor there. His opinion on the AL is a little lowe rthan it should be due to his poor choice of amplification accompaniment.

I think I'm going to break into his house, steal his F****r, rough him up a little and then blame neighbourhood toughs. "What can I say? The punks on your block don't support the F and the G of the guitar world. Sorry kiddo."
