Rough Rosewood neck?

Hey ya'll, just wondering if anyone had any experience with a rough feeling rosewood neck? I recently picked up a rosewood neck silo special and after oiling with some wonder wipes I could feel a bit of roughness right in the middle of the neck. Do I treat it like a maple neck and give it a quick sanding/steel wood treatment? Does it need more oil? Any ideas on what could have caused it? It was in the store for a couple of years so maybe that caused some drying. Thanks!

Mine has a little roughness right in the center but certainly not enough to even begin to bother me. I don't even notice it anymore really.....and will probably smooth out over time. If it bothers you though try a little steel wool and see if that doesn't smooth it out enough.

A little 1000-grit sandpaper or steel wool does it for me.
