Would love to hear from some guys whom have experience with RPS9 strings versus super slinky's. I really like the feel of .009's but do not like the lack of tuning and intonation stability that typically comes with heavier strings. I am hoping maybe the reinforced RPS type strings may provide a little more stability with tuning and intonation. I know the reinforcing is mainly designed to prevent breakage but has anyone noticed improved stability also? Thanks dudes!

I have played .009's forever and just tried a set of regular slinky .010's thinking bigger strings, bigger tone. I noticed a big difference in how well the .010's intonate and stay in tune, but I hate the increased tension and stiffness. The bigger strings seem to intonate better all the way up the neck and stay in tune better overall. So my question was this: Would the RPS series .009's which have additional reinforcement provide better tuning/intonation stability ? Bottom line is I can't seem to get used to the .010's because of the increased tension. Thought maybe the .009 RPS type strings would be more stable ? Might give some a try.

Lately I seem to be breaking strings on my Silo quite often. I broke two just last night (A & G). I have always played Super Slinky's but have recently tried the Hybrids. I typically break the lower strings, so I thought the Hybrids would help. However, I still broke the A, so I don't think it makes a big difference.

I was wondering if the RPS9 strings would be more resistant to breakages? The other guitar player in my band keeps telling me to ditch the EB strings, but I do like using them. I have never tried the RPS strings, so maybe it's worth a shot.

Another thing I have been wondering.... is it me? I do pick close to the bridge and sometimes like to wail on the guitar when playing hard rock stuff - is there any other way to play The Who? I also use a HEAVY guitar pick as well.

What do you guys think?

RPS are extremly good strings I use them on my Luke. but breaking string so often especially A you may have a saddles problem.

I would check with a tech before trying 1000 of strings set :D

Not that I am a EBMM die hard fan but EBMM strings are really one of the best on the market (I'm using both Dean Markley blue Steel and EBMM strings now)
