I just purchased my Sabre in Blurple . Its a lovely guitar...and HIGHLY resonate. So much so that on leads I get enduring note overtones. I initially thought this was a feedback loop issue, so I plugged into my amp less setup, direct into my interface. The overtones are the same or maybe even a bit more pronounced ampless. Example: if I play a b at the 12th fret, that note tone will continue to ring even after I start playing up that same string past the 12th fret. Sympathetic overtones on un-played strings are also more difficult to keep silenced on this guitar than any other I own.

I'm assuming I need to look at the tremolo springs as the culprit here? It's the only thing I can think of that would reverberate an initial tone.

Just looking for advice to tame the overtone issues. Anything else I should be looking at beyond the trem springs?

I've had similar issues with ringing. Most notably playing an open G chord, quickly muting, and hearing a decaying ring.

99% of the time (for me anyway) the issue is ringing behind the nut, even after putting rubber tubes on the trem springs. To solve it I stick a rubber grommet or two between the offending strings, behind the nut. Quick and easy.

Easy enough to test the theory- slide a piece of fabric or a cloth between the strings behind the nut and see if it helps.
