I myself was waiting for some type of clarification.

Although I'm pretty sure the answer will still be, "Hmm, I don't know."

>>>Bridges were top-loaded on later ones at least, but the first sabres used stingray bridges that were through-body.

The Pre-EB Sabre came into being in 1979 and used a top-load "horse shoe" type bridge...never string-through as far as I know....which remained in use untill the end of the Pre-EB period (1984).

The Pre-EB 'Rays (although string-through earlier) changed to top-load in 1980 and remained that way.

So, at the end of the Pre-EB period, the Sabres and 'Rays were both top-loaded with their respective bridge designs.

When EB began production in 85, left over top-loaded 'Ray bridges were put to use on the Sabre (the "horse-shoe" was deleted). The new EB Sabre and 'Ray both used the Pre-EB top-load bridges. The Sabre never used Pre-EB string-through bridges and EB had no "string-through" design.

In effect, the Sabre was never a "string-through".

I have absolutely no idea what Evil is asking.
