I'm thinking about replacing the saddles on my Luke because they are starting to pit.

What should i replace them w/? I would think that there is something out there that goes good w/ the locking tuners to help the tuning stability when you use the trem. I faintly remember someone saying "graphite" saddles?

What have you Luke owners done to yours?

I put some graphtec stringsavers on my luke...I did not like it, because it sounded very dark.

then, I put some graphtec ferraglide, it's made of metal, except the part that touchs the string...it sounds like the original and never breaks strings...

I wanted to put some ferraglide on all my guitars, but I don't have no problem with my original saddles, so...

If I had to change my saddles again, that would be ferraglide, for sure ! ...go for it !

do you remember which style of the Ferraglides you put on? or the part #...i went to their webpage and there are like 12 different styles. i was wondering if the vintage strat style fits on the MM trems? they have import strat, offset strat, PRS, and vintage strat

I've mounted the Music Man Solid Steel Saddles on my Luke instead of the Vintage Steel One, i couldn't have been more happy.
I don't want parts that are not made by EBMM on my EBMM guitars.

There are a number of people who have done that mod. Orange Channel recently did that on his Silo. I think Roubster may have done it too at one point or another.

Brentrocks call MM and ask for the axis supersport solid steel saddles, I had graphtech on my silo special until I realized the MM saddles will fit and they sound way better, plus as mentioned they are MM so the guitar looks stock -

Brent, I've been thinking the exact same thing. OC and I were just talking about this the other day. I really prefer the solid saddles and I'm getting ready to replace all of the bent ones that I have.

I'm gonna go with the EBMM, I have them on my Axis Sport and they are excellent.

thanks guys...the problem that i'm having is that the G and the high E are consistantly going sharp after i use the trem, keep in mind i'm not dive bombing it, just using it in a normal way. that would be a saddle problem, right?

i have 3 spings on the trem, it is not floating and i am using slinky 10-46s and it does have the locking tuners

Brent, are the strings binding in the nut? If the nut was cut for a set of 9s, then moving to 10s could cause the strings to bind. If it's at the nut, you can have the nut slot slightly widened and or put some lubricant (like nut sauce, I like carmex lip balm) in the nut slot. But, if it's your saddle . . . try some lubricant at the point of contact on the saddle.

Hope you get your problem solved.

I'd first widen the nut groove a tad on the sticking strings. But be careful, you don't want to cut them deeper. Sometimes running the string back and forth through the groove is enough to relieve them a little, as long as their not tightly wedged. Wedgies on nuts isn't a good thing.

I've thought of replacing the saddles on one of my Silos with stock block type EB saddles. It's been said here that they sound heavier or more dense, which makes sense since they are. That could be a good or bad thing, depending on what you like. I love the vintage saddles on my blue Silo, gives it a needed twang, but my maple board Silo could use a little fattening up, to my ears.

Yip widen the Nut or go back to 9's but the Pencil trick works great but i found it messy so i use Big Bens Nut Sauce now it works like a charm!
