I personally have no experience with that model but a while back I was looking into bass wireless systems b4 and the general concensus was that sennheiser ( i think there was a G something model) made the best. In the world of wireless systems you seem to get what you pay for.

I've used a Samson Airline for 4 years. Never missed a beat, great battery life (12+ hours from a single AAA), good range, tonally transparent. What would you like to know?

I just wanted to hear from some people here that are using one. I like the looks of them.

Some advice from an experienced Airline user -

1. When putting your bass on a stand between sets, be careful that the transmitter bug is not caught between the bass and the stand/floor. This is more of a risk with basses that have their output jack on the side/edge of the body rather than the front. It's quite sturdy, but is only plastic nonetheless.

2. The receiver is also plastic, and despite it's effect pedal appearance, I'd be wary about putting it on the floor, given that you, a fellow bandmember, or stage invading punter could easily crush it under a Doc Marten or Redwing. I sit my receiver on top of my bass rig, out of harm's way. That way, it's up higher too, which should ensure ever better reception.

3. Check the batteries before every set. Even though battery life is long, it's easy to forget how long the battery has been in use, and when the battery dies it dies suddenly.

4. There is a 15db pad on the transmitter, which does a great job with active basses.

5. Find/buy/build a small case to carry the transmitter, receiver, wall wart, and a short patch cable (to go from the receiver to your rig). This keeps everything in one place so that you never forget to bring a component to a gig, and also protects them from damage. I use a small ABS microphone case (would normally fit 2 mics) for my Airline, just the right size.

Have things settled down there in Jakarta now the the holiday season is upon you?

Somewhat. The demonstrations and minor rioting have been replaced by the noise of late night feasts, drum banging at 1.30am, fireworks thru the night, and the sounds of the mosque on the next corner. No wonder these people look tired and listless during the day when they're fasting.
