well, after hearing all of you guys talk about the JP6, i think it might be my next target. what is the neck like in comparison with my Sub1? (i have heard the Sub1 is like a silo) and also is it a trouble to keep the unfinished neck from suffering from the elements? thanks guys

Paul, I was never really in the JP until I got mine. Now, I couldn't think of not having one. The neck is way different from a Sub 1, but the EBMM necks in general vary from model to model that you really need to try them. I tried my first JP with a piezo at the Open House and I was floored. :)

Try them all. I have't tried a Sub 1 in a while, but I'm hoping to hit GC sometime next week and see what they've got in stock. If you like the Sub 1 a lot the JP might not be for you, the neck is very flat. I'd try either the Silo, Silo Special I think they might be more to your liking.

If your saving man, save a little bit extra and get the piezo!!!! It's well worth it. :)

Hey man fill in your location in your profile. It makes it easier for people to network,

Good luck, Glenn |B)

I live in Florida, lots of humidity, and my JP has never had a problem. If you wind up getting one, the neck will hold up great.

Amazing guitar. Still, after owning it for 4 month, I say it all the time. Its made to be played. All the right combination of ingredients come together on this one. I live in Minnesotar and, so far, the neck is just like the day I got it. I've oiled/waxxed it once. I have owned all the classics from all the big boys and feel that the JP6 takes me to the next level.

I've had my JP7 for a year and haven't yet oiled the neck. Where did you get the oil and what other tips do you have??? I'm sure this is covered elsewhere, but...

Also, my guitar has been outstanding regarding the neck adjustment and action. I live in northern Illinois and experience extreme weather changes (like Minnesota!) on a regular basis. So far, I've had not problems!
