Man that's a nice looking bass. How long has it been since they were being made? Because this one looked pretty new.

If it had one (or two) more strings and was left handed, I would have left* with it. :D

The store I went to didn't have any lefties. :(

*Corny, I know.

I saw one too, a few hours ago, at a GC near me, out in San Diego (San Marcos store). I had never touched one before. I have to say ... felt very, very nice. I didn't plug in - I stopped in just before closing time. But as our intrepid governor would say, "I'll be back".

MacD, we still make stealth bongos. In fact you could order one right now (from your respective dealer) as a lefty five string. It's the only production piece we currently make with black hardware.

Not to "highjack" the thread, but AJ, you rock man. Thanks for the rapid reply to the email I sent to customer service today, about the Koa SR5. Much appreciated.

Wow. Did not know that. Never knew they were available as a lefty (Does anyone own a lefty version? )

I'll have to keep that in mind as we get closer to NAMM. If the Bongo 6 doesn't come as a lefty, then i'll order a Bongo 5 Stealth.

Fretless version?

Are these available as fretless? on a 5 string in particular? any inquiries on this? I'm looking to get an all black bass and this one caught my eye, haven't tried one yet, but I love my '90 stingray5 (blackB/blackPG/rosewoodFB/naturalHS/chromeHW), built real solid and carefully crafted. I wanted a fretless bass as well, and bongo stealth looks like a candidate, don't know if it has the fretless option though, but like the fact that they innovated it in such a way, look real comfy and i checked it out on youtube, sounds nice, but I have to test it myself, and the 24 fret thing is great as well.

You can't get a Stealth Bongo with Piezo. But you can get a regular 4 or 5 string black Bongo with piezo.
