Wow! Just got back into Tucson from Phoenix for Dream Theater's gig tonight. What a great show this evening. My ears are still ringing; for the record, this may be the loudest concert I've been to. The two opening bands weren't nearly as loud as Dream Theater. The set list consisted of:
Constant Motion
Panic Attack
Blind Faith
Surrounded
The Dark Eternal Night
Lines in the Sand
Another Day
The Spirit Carries On
In The Presence of Enemies
Encore:
Medley of Trial of Tears, Finally Free, Learning to Live, In the Name of God, and Octavarium to close.
I had awesome tickets, 10th row. Lots of BFR action from Mr. Petrucci, and I then noticed that Myung was using a 6 string bongo or some EB bass. AWESOME! Seeing the BFRs in action in Petrucci's hands makes me want one that much more. Jordan using the keytar was class, pure and simple. He used it so well. He more or less put to shame the album version of Lines in the Sand. Everyone was dead on in the performances tonight. James sounded great! The animation they added to The Dark Eternal Night was great, more DT cartoons! In the Presence of Enemies played together (both parts back to back) was jaw dropping.
Here's a few pictures of the show. I didn't really know how to use my camera well in the dark, plus security was being lame about cameras. Check 'em out!
