Wow! Just got back into Tucson from Phoenix for Dream Theater's gig tonight. What a great show this evening. My ears are still ringing; for the record, this may be the loudest concert I've been to. The two opening bands weren't nearly as loud as Dream Theater. The set list consisted of:

Constant Motion
Panic Attack
Blind Faith
Surrounded
The Dark Eternal Night
Lines in the Sand
Another Day
The Spirit Carries On
In The Presence of Enemies

Encore:
Medley of Trial of Tears, Finally Free, Learning to Live, In the Name of God, and Octavarium to close.

I had awesome tickets, 10th row. Lots of BFR action from Mr. Petrucci, and I then noticed that Myung was using a 6 string bongo or some EB bass. AWESOME! Seeing the BFRs in action in Petrucci's hands makes me want one that much more. Jordan using the keytar was class, pure and simple. He used it so well. He more or less put to shame the album version of Lines in the Sand. Everyone was dead on in the performances tonight. James sounded great! The animation they added to The Dark Eternal Night was great, more DT cartoons! In the Presence of Enemies played together (both parts back to back) was jaw dropping.

Here's a few pictures of the show. I didn't really know how to use my camera well in the dark, plus security was being lame about cameras. Check 'em out!

Can't make it this year because I'll be back in Japan... looking forward to some Japanese tour dates though, from which I will certainly post pictures.

I'm still hoping they add an east coast leg to the tour after they do their european stint so I can check them out. I'm afraid if I see/hear JP play his BFRs that I will come back and sell both my JPs to get one.:cool:

I'm so glad they played TDEN and INPOE, I'm dying to hear that when they play here in Baltimore 8/14. I'm hoping for a little Mirror action too :]

Glad to hear the reveiw, was going to go to the Dallas show in a couple of weeks but just did not want to sit and wait thru a couple of spare bands just to get to DT, would love to see JP again but prefer them to be the only band.

Thanks. Love Seinfeld. And my single Ball of course.

These were the best seats I've ever had at a concert, and I've been to plenty. I was about 25 ft or so from the stage. And I only paid 42 bucks a pop for our seats. What a great experience!

Omg, what a sick setlist. In the Name of God is my favourite DT song, ever and I REALLY want to see it live (we're talking near heart attack, here)! Just wondering, did JP switch guitars during the medley-schmedly (for ITNOG) or did he manage in standard tuning?

Can't wait 'til August 18th!!! I'm gonna go ballistic!:cool::D:eek::eek::eek:
