Based on post #11 in this thread: http://www.ernieball.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20405

I've decided to issue a challenge.

I've been a knucklehead for about a year and a half now. In that time, I've speculated and wished for a number of things, such as the availability of the Open House mahogany Bongo, a Bongo guitar, etc.

BP has rained on my parade pretty consistently and very explicitly. At this point I almost think he's got it in for me for some reason. Every time I come up with a brilliant, nay, GENIUS idea, complete with a perfectly logical rationale for why it makes good business sense, it gets summarily shot down. And often ridiculed.

I'm not even asking for anything exotic, like LED fret markers or solid flame bodies.

Now, I think I'm being reasonable. Even intelligent. Yet even the mildest concepts are greeted with a loud klaxon and a blinking red DENIED across my computer screen.

Which is all cool. I don't mind a bit...it's all fun.

But.

There's one thing that goes against this constant stream of cold water. Something that, if I were foolish enough to believe that anyone actually pays attention to my rantings and ravings, might lead me to believe that I'm being listened to. Something that I might need to act upon, in a manner that is at least somewhat significant (as in "put up or shut up.")

If anyone can guess what that thing is, and what I have to do, I'll buy that person a set of Slinkys of their choice. The guess has to be absolutely explicit and correct.

All the clues are in past posts.

Have at it, kids!

Would you rather have a stream of hot water? Like body temp water?

Is it a rosewood neck?

Andrew, closest yet.

No joy.

(and yes, I AM practicing, for real!)

Yes, I do intend to buy an 07 LE 5H fretless Bongo. That part's easy.

No, a six is not in the cards...my hands are too small.

No, not a rosewood neck. Nice try.

There's more to it than that.

(In fact, there are two specific things beyond the 07LEB5Hp, but one is pretty far back so I didn't include it...extra bonus is another set of strings to anyone who gets both of them.... C'mon, kids, that's TWO SETS of strings up for grabs!...Extra set only to the smart camper who gets both things right.)

Hints may become available, but not yet.

Nothing hidden...it's all in plain language, in past posts.

Hehehe....nope.

There are even hints in this thread that you've missed.

PS: As much as I like Dargin's blue Bongo, I think that nekkid Bongos are wrong. That sucker needs a pickguard, and I'm darned glad that the 07 LE will have one.

This thread makes me tense.

From your avatar, I'd think you'd know better.

A-ha! I almost fell for it, but then I realized that your alleged 'previous' posts don't exist because you've never posted pictures of them.  :D

I think this has something to do with the Open House Mahogany Bongo,Your love for the look of the 30th Stingray, Dave La Rues Mahogany Bongo(W/Piezo) and the announcement of the BFR's which could make a Mahogany Bongo 5Hp a possibility for you.........Me thinks the other thing has to do with white pickup covers..

MingusBASS has gotten the closest so far, with the BD fretless, but that's only part of the answer. Read the challenge carefully...it's not just about the bass....

The magic word here is "golden shower":)

No idea what you're after, but I for one am very happy that your skin is thick enough to handle the constant rejections:D
