Schaller Locking Tuners

We all know that the Music Man John Petrucci Models use Schaller M6 IND Locking Tuners. My question is, what does the "IND" stand for?

I've always thought it stood for individual, since that's how you have to buy these tuners.

Equally what does M6 stand for? Probably after the Motorway that goes from London to Manchester!
