I just got back from Cleveland attending Scott Hamiltons Cares Initiave Cancer Benefit.

This is the 11th year and Scotts dream is to cure cancer...He has raised over 20 million dollars for reasearch and patient support. He started the webiste chemocares and fourth angel.

Scott Hamilton is family to me. He is one of the great champions on ice and more so in life. He got sick again this summer the press only knows part of it...we almost lost him. It was a very difficult time for all of us.

I want to make a point that all you read see and hear is bad stuff....The Lohans Hiltons...al that bs..You dont read about a cancer survivor raising 20 million and doing what Scott has done

The VIP party just featured Rodney Crowell doing one song...I was asked to accompany him onn guitar....He killed the audience. One song. Floored them. I actually played good....I was inspired. The main show last night featured the top skaters uncludiong the USA Gold Medalsit...skating live to Vince Gill..Rodney sang four of his somgs with Vinces Band and Brad Paisley made a suprise guest spot and the Sheryl Crow. It was a wonderful night of music and skating for an even better cause

Here is Scotty at breakfast sporting the old school eb colors

Wow, I am sorry to hear about Scott Hamilton getting sick again but that also really says something to his character that he continues the fight. BP, is there anything I can do to help the cause? Also, if you do any future shows and want to borrow the Classic you built me for my wife, simply let me know where it needs to be shipped too. I want to do everything in my power to help find a cure for cancer and do whatever I can do to raise awareness.

Scott Hamilton is a really seriously superbly nice guy (with at least one very cute kid who once schooled me on "Uncle Sterling"). I heard earlier this year that he was having trouble.

If you think about it, BP, give him my best and I'm sending all the mojo I can muster his way.

Scott Hamilton skated like a M****** when he competed, and as an Announcer at the Olympics and the other Skating competitions, you could sense his excellence as a human being.

His signature backflips and all...Way kewl person.

I grew up in the MidWest and used to iceskate everyday outside in the WInter, on a frozen park surface.

Ice Skaters are some of the most devoted and skilled athletes; it takes some giant ...er, stuff to figure skate well.
Good on him for what he does.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I don't know many families that this terrible disease hasnt affected. It has struck mine before and I hope it never does again.

The world seems to revolve around trash celebrity news, when none of that really matters.

Raising money for any research is a fantastic way of helping those that need it.

Best wishes to Scott.

My wife was found to have a very large brain tumor three years ago. It was removed completely but it was very hard on her and our kids. She has to take medication likely for life to control seizures but we count ourselves as being very very lucky. Some things change your perspective forever.

I have never really followed figure skating much, but I did happen to catch Scott on The Celebrity Apprentice last year and he was also a guest judge a couple of weeks ago on Battle of the Blades (Canadian show that pairs figure skaters with former hockey players) and he comes across as a genuine class act all around. It's great to hear that he's done so much for cancer research. He's a great inspiration.

The Surgeon General has warnings issued on smoking.

Hey BP, next time you talk to Scott, can you ask him how I can help out his website or his charities? If he needs phone calls made or help getting the word out or funds raised, anything that I could do to assist, I am willing to do free of charge.

I read "teaching him to smoke" and thought Wow.. Everybody in California really does use Pot? Then I realized Meat... Wow... I hope Scott is okay, no doubt he really has done a ton for the cause. And he totally got the shaft on Celebrity Apprentice.

I haven't been too active on here lately but I'm Still around. Im on a new kind of chemo thats not that bad. It effects me more Neurologically than I am was used to, but i can still manage to get out of bed everyday, and for me that is a victory.

Didn't mean to hijack, maybe ill repost in a different thread.
