Can anyone provide information on the process of doing so?

Whats turn around time on average?

Cost?

I would not send my guitar in around this time. I know they're gearing up for the Majesty, Armada MM90 and the Axis SS Semi-Hollow Body Launch so it probably wouldn't be ideal for either party.

There was a technician at the Arts Store in Newmarket Ontario (local to me) who was certified to do EB set-ups. Financially, it made more sense to go him. Sadly, Eric passed away not too long ago (we became friends thanks to guitars).

He set up my Luke extremely well, and I'm wondering if that is considered 'a factory set-up', although it's obviously not at the factory. I will likely seek out another EB trained tech when the need arises.

No one in your area who can do a set up?

Also, factory set up may not be what YOU want. I have always set up any guitar to what is comfy for me to play. Any good tech should do a set up and then let you play the guitar and continue tweaking it till you are happy with it.

You can also provide the tech with the factory specs.

Learn to do your own. It's not rocket science. And it's fun and satisfying too. :)

+1. Once you get the hang of it, you won't want anyone else touching your Balls. You'll know that it is truly done right, to EBMM specs. Get the Stewart McDonald kit and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

It doesn't hurt to learn about guitar maintenance. Especially for minor things. But what they do at that factory is magic. Your guitar will come back feeling brand new.

I agree with Richie; that is, if you're getting a major workover (frets, neck cleaning & rewaxing,etc.). For minor tweakings such as intonation, action, etc., I'd rather do it myself than send it to someone locally. Most of the guys in my area will try to set it up to THEIR liking, not yours. EBMM will work magic, though.
