Busted!

I bet your right ! I sent the guy an e-mail telling him I thought the neck plate was wrong. I wonder how may did leave without the signature? I have #87432 its a Blue Quilt and its missing the signature.

Music Man did produce some guitars without the EVH signature. This was a transition period between the time EVH left the company and the guitar was renamed and updated. Exact quantities shipped are not available. Serial # 87432 was built 7/95.

Serial # A90974 does not show up as a valid number. It is possible that it is a Japanese version. These guitars were built to the old EVH specs, using USA hardware and pickups, without the EVH signature. They were built for the Japanese market only, by our Japanese distributor. The way to identify these is to check the back of the headstock. If the words "Made in San Luis Obispo California, USA" do not exist, it is probably from Japan.

Thanks,
Greg

Greg, thanks for the info. I do have another question. I know some people that have serial numbers later than mine (87432) that have his signature. How did that come about?
Thanks again,
JT

The serial numbers are not sequential.

The plot thickens.
