Whilst Xmas shopping today in Cardiff I came across a rare beast indeed - A black hardtail second hand AL. It's serial number is 97647 and I was wondering whether anybody from EB could tell me the year of manufacture please?
It's got dings/dangs and buckle rash but overall in great shape).

From previous posts I understand that is Kosher to post 2nd hand prices on here - if not Mods please edit and Knucks can PM me.

The price is £799.

Anyway, onto the second part of my mail, a good buddy of mine (primarily a bass player) was hankering after a Les Paul. I told him my opinion of the good and bad of the LP and told him to come around and play my AL ( No, not my wife who is also called Al! (Alyson))

After playing it he was sold on Al (the guitar) and decided he had to have one.
I told him about the second hand one above but said that I would post a request on this forum viz:-

If anybody out there has an AL for sale , preferably with a trem could you contact me please - cheers Spud

Nahh - I hanker after a LEAL :D

It (the second hand one) is nowhere near as good as the one I already have, but in probability if I'd seen this a year ago I'd have got it.

The only trouble is, is that the neck has received an application of too much wax.
It needs a rub down with some scotchpad, and a re aplication of Gun stock oil - it would be perfect then.

Oh and BTW what the f happened in the Ashes series!!! The England team were a shadow of what they were 12 months ago!!

They're missing the Welsh fast bowler Simon Jones - that's for sure - shame he injured his knee 2-3 years ago in Oz - he's never regained fitness.

Oh and whilst I'm in talkative mode "The Murphys" had a Xmas celebration a week early yesterday as my brother and his wife are off on Safari in SA.
I had a great "pop up" book showing an interactive tour of Elvis's Graceland - the author was another "Murphy" - and a signed Cardiff Rugby Shirt which I have to get "stuffed and mounted" ha!

Oh and for myself Today I bought (for my son to give to me!!) a hotlicks DVD on EVH !!! - I gotta get that tapping technique somehow!!
Over and out !!

no wonder you are a Simon Jones fan, poor bloke, cant seem to stay on the park for even a few tests, very injury prone. my mind goes back to that horiffic injury at the Gabba in 2002 when he busted his knee diving for the ball, OUCH!!!!! he certainly wouldve made a difference this series, he is better than the pie chuckers on display.
