Is it possible to send your Balls back to the factory for set-up work as long as the custumer pays shipping to and from and all bench rates ?? I would love to have Jon do my set-ups !!

You can, but I would really encourage you to learn setups yourself. It is not hard to do, and you would save a bunch of $. If you do want to send your guitar in, just give customer service a call.

Thanks Jon, I have been learning how do my own set ups, (i have bought some of Dan Erlewines books and a crappy junker to practice on), and i almost have it set to my liking, it's just not quite there yet. The one thing i can't figure out is, when i set my Luke up i set it up to lower pitch only, went from RPS 9's to RPS 10's, raised the saddle's just a hair, adjusted the truss rod, but now when i use the trem all the strings go sharp and i have to retune, is this a situation where i would probably need to apply maybe some nut sauce ?? I actually set-up my brothers 62 tele reissue over the last weekend just lovely, but i think alot of my problem is, i just get nerveous when i start too work on my own (expensive) guitars.

I perused the forums for a while and found all the info I needed to setup my guitar the way I wanted. I wouldn't have it any other way now! It is always a good idea to adjust your own guitar.

Jon once wrote, "Who knows how your guitar should play better than you?" in response to a forumite asking whether he should take his new guitar in for setup or not...

Once I heard him say that (or read it rather :)), I took it upon myself to set my JP up the way I wanted it to play, and I have been totally satisfied with BOTH of my JPs since then...

There was the inevitable 'trial and error', but that is how you learn!

EDIT: Just saw your post before mine (1 minute before. ha.), and it is very possible that some nut sauce would help.

I am new here, and have the same guitar as you. I have always been nervus about screwing it up . . . but would love to learn how to set-up my JPM 6 string guitar.. I have a ton of buzz on the Low E, and resetnly its constanly going sharp.

Where are the threads concerning setup for jpm 6 ?

thanks

Most things I try anddo myself, though sometimes hesitant, there are great books on the do it yourself set up out there, what I think would be cool is for BP, Jon and the rest of the crew to put out a book\manual on set up and taking care of EBMM guitars and basses, just dedicated to the music man line, would buy it in a nano second:)

musicmans are really easy to set up and don't require much tinkering, it's a HUGE added bonus as I have 3 other guitars i'm connstantly tweaking and I just sometimes give a quick truss rod adjustment to my JP every few months, and intonation. that's about it.
