hello, i was just curious as to what cut/boost you use on your stingray/sterling. i have a 3-band eq stingray, and i usually set the treble and bass all the way up and leave the mid at the well....middle. i currently play bass in a punk band and find that this setting gets the sound i'm looking for. let me know what you guys use, and what style you play

I mainly play jazz, funk and R&B blended with rock to some degree on my Stingray 5. I use the serial humbucker mode with slightly boosted mids and lows to emulate P-bass tones occasionaly. More regularly I use the single coil mode, also with slightly boosted mids and lows. That way I get a nice Jaco-like tone, nice for fingerstyle playing. I mostly use the parallel mode though to get a nice alround sound that works well for fingerstyle, slap and soloing. With new string I just boost the lows slightly and with older strings I boost the highs abit too. Most of the basic tone tweaking I do on my Sansamp Bassdriver D.I. and the onboard EQ is mainly used to fine tune the sound and to adjust for the various coil switch settings.

My sound can be heard at www.stefanolsson.tk. The 5-5 song showcases many of the sound I use regularly.
