Hi everyone
First post here and I wish it could have been on a happier note but here it is as follows.
Story goes:
In oct of 07 I get a standard ebmm jp brand new and everything is hunky dory. I only play it home, I keep it in the case with the lid closed every time I even put it down etc. Then one day in november I pick the guitar up from the case and it looks like this:
There were a bunch of fine scratches on the guitar which is odd because I never wear shirts with zippers where I play. I thought it could be perhaps a cold weather issue (I am in Sweden heh) but I decide this stuff happens and as long as I'm careful it won't get any worse.
Wrong.
So fast foward to january and one morning it looks like this:
Basically, chunks of paint fell off overnight, the edges are all frizzled and there's that dark paint ingrained in the coating underneath.
And today it looks like this:
Basically, I have no idea how it happened. Today I showed it to a store that's also an official ebmm dealer and they thought it looked like it had been put under a stagelight for many hours but that's never been the case with the info provided above. This has been my baby and I've treated it as such.
It's just odd to me why this would happen, a repaint would cost around 1000 dollars or the equivalent here so that's obviously not worth it but then again this kills the joy to play something fierce for me.
Any ideas or thoughts on what I could do? Any input and/or help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
