I don't know if anyone else has done this, but I've gone through alot of phases in my guitar collections.

I've gone from cheap beginner guitars (Epiphone strat, Les Paul copy), to three Wolfgangs, to my Axis (which I'm not getting rid of, unless it's to get another EBMM), now to my recent fit on building replicas. Hell, I've even sold off a couple of amps, relying entirely on my Micro Cube (until my new tube amp gets here).

Now I've gotten tired of that, and I want to feed my EBMM obsession. If my eBay auctions go well, I'm hoping to have enough to buy a second Ball.

I'm in the market for a SUB 1 HH, trem or no trem. Color isn't a huge issue, but I'd like blue.

BTW, anyone else gone through these phases???

Yeah, i've been known to move a few guitars around. i used to be a big gibson guy, after i bought my first EBMM EVH, i wanted more! So the LPs and the SGs went on the block, they are gone!

Now....i have owned a few EVHs, bought a few sold a few...now with the AL and the upcomming Morse...i am trying to branch out to new horizons. I dont think i will ever go anywhere but EB, why would I?

agreed. hell i had some kramers and nice ones and fender and such. steve stevens sig washburn but all gone. one evh and 2 axis guitars. now i am building the dream double neck and have my eyes on a sport with the s/s/s config. why? well the neck of the axis/evh guitars fits my hand so much i cant play anything else. thats why i wont branch out much cause that guitar is liek they say an old freind. i have little hands and the neck on the axis/evh is nice and thin while fat and fills up my hand. greatest desing i have ever seen. reason why i odnt own a wolfgang, the neck feels to wide for me.

I think a lot of people go through those phases. I certainly have, and I think it is just a part of trying to find and redefine your voice on guitar. I have learnt that I really have to spend some time with a guitar to know if it is for me or not. Even in the long term, nothing I have is set in stone as a "keeper". Sometimes it is not a matter of a guitar being better, just different.

Over the past couple of years I have been really inspired by Gibson Les Pauls. Having played Strats or super-Strats for years they were a refreshing change and really altered the way I thought about my tone. More recently I have been trying out a variety of EBMMs each of which have there own voice. Ergonomically I love the JP6 and it has a very specific tone to die for. I also like experimenting with the piezo and mixing the piezo and magnetic pickups. However, for me, I do find the JP6 a little one dimensional and it is less inspiring than the 20th Ann Silo I picked up a couple of months ago. Again, this is all personal and is essentially the reason I try many different guitars.

The only phase I've gone through was I used to play strictly Ibanez and while I still have a few of them around, EB is now a better fit for me. When I used to be a flashier player, the Flourescent Green and Glow-in-the-dark paint jobs fit my music. Now it would just look strange. I've grown to really love guitars with flamed and quilted paint jobs, while years ago I never would have like it.

I used to be an Aria guy. I had 2 old PE series guitars, and CT1 Superstrat type, an 80's neck thru and a few others I forget now! I have also had about 5 strats and a 12 string tele too. I bought my EVH in '95 and have not looked back! I still have the PE1200, but its in a bit of a mess these days...
