Do any of you think its tacky to tie this color and sale to my fathers death? First off its envy green not sherwood green. Nobody called my dad sherwood since 1948 andd then it was just my grandmothers side that did...I hope no one bids

Tacky, sad, inappropriate, ungrateful, disrespectful, just plain wrong.

Delete as appropiate.

It is envy green like the one I had.

I just shook my head in a mix of disgust and sadness when the seller tried to link the color to the passing of Ernie.

Sorry for that act of disrespect on his part BP.

It made me angry when I saw the auction, too.

But, in fairness, he could simply be going on what a dealer told him when he bought the bass, not that that makes it any less crappy.

I've sent the seller a comment with corrections to the inaccuracies. Let's see how he responds.

This is what I sent:

"Hi, there. You've got some pretty gross inaccuracies in your auction. The color is called Envy Green, not Sherwood Green. And, while it is a limited edition from 2004, it has absolutely NOTHING to with the death of Ernie Ball, tribute or otherwise. To tie this bass to his passing is both tacky and disrespectful. I can assure you that the Ernie Ball forum (ie large collection of potential buyers) have seen the text in your ad, and are none too pleased (ie the most likely buyers have no intention of buying it). Please post the correction to your ad, if for no other reason than to respect the memory of the man who did so much for musicians everywhere."
