Hey Guys!

I just bought my very first EBMM, A stunning looking mint condition Axis Rosewood:

I have recently started a new job and have a few things I need to pay off so money is a little tight at the moment so my question is how necessary would it be to buy postal insurance on this for $79? The seller has sold a lot of items (including a few guitars) so I would be quite confident in his packing skills, plus the guitar does ship in a EBMM hard case which I presume is a very high quality case which should be more than adequate to protect it. If anyone has anything to chime in please do :)

Welcome! How about telling us where you stay and where the guitar ship from? Then we can advise you accordingly. ;)

Congrats on the Rosewood ASS!:D

Congrats on the Rosewood ASS!:D

Ha I suppose that could help. I'm from Ireland and this guitar is located in the UK. I suppose insurance should be bought just in case it gets lost in transit, I'm just so strapped for cash these days and had no intention of buying anything till I saw this! Damn you Ernie ball! :D

All insurance is a waste of money.....until something goes wrong!!
Assuming you bought it on EBay it's actually the seller's responsibility to get it to you safely & you can chargeback via PayPal if he doesn't.
Most of my EBay purchases have been from the USA and insurance has always been included in the USPS $100 or so it cost to send. They were all packed well & arrived in excellent shape.
$79 sounds expensive for insurance....ParcelForce sent my Axis SS from UK to Spain for 30 pounds insured. Try www.parcel2go.com .they may be cheaper.

Thats a fantastic point! 40 pounds does seem a bit excessive for insurance (on top of 40 pounds for shipping) so with that in mind I might forgo the insurance :D Ill check out parcel2go.com when I get out of work and see what kinda deal I can muster up :D
