Is there info anywhere on the forum where one could find shipping weights on guitars including their respective case? I know the Music Man website has information on the weight of each guitar but it doesn't include case weight as well.

I'm looking specifically for information on the JPX.

Most of the time with case it is a shipping weight of 20 to 25 lbs based on actual weight including total length width height.

The JPX7 is 25lbs in a box the same size as the case adding very little to the dimensions. I've never shipped nor received a BFR that weighed less than 23lbs shipped. My heaviest being my JPXI-7 at 26lbs. That's why I prefer the SKB cases, far lighter for transport.

Hey Devin, I recently shipped a guitar to SLO for some work done via UPS and it was about $20-ish but I insured the guitar so it was a little bit closer to just under $50

Depending on the destination zip code it changes so it's not all about weight or dimensions. I've shipped to Rhode Island, to Gio, and it was about $80-ish with no insurance (doh!) I sent other stuff so price was bumped up to about $111 roughly.

I believe UPS has a shipping estimator that will get you in the "Ball" park, so you can gauge shipping cost.

I ship via Fedex and when I shipped my JP12 BFR to EBMM to get setup and taken care of it cost me $35 fully insured. About 25lbs and 43x16x7 or so. Me and my family business ship through them because they have the best rates in the area.

And from what I know they charge for certain thresholds, as in the calculation changes once you break 20lbs, and once you go over 25lbs you also get a more expensive price. Same thing with dimensions, If you're under 60" overall it's a specific price and once you cross over even if it's by 1" it'll change the calculation and give you the price accordingly. That's why when you put dimensions in, sometimes you won't see a difference in price if you're still within a certain threshold, like 55"-60". Zip Codes also have less of an effect, for Fedex.

They also offer free hold at location services, so in my case where I work and get out later in the day I can just go and pick up my gear when I get off work or classes.

My normal JP6 was in box 24 lbs 9" x 21" x 47"
My BFR JP6 was in box 26 lbs 6" x 16" x 46"

BFR case is smaller...

Cheers Baz
