Ok I don't know why but I've been having a lot of complications with this guitar. I bought it brand new last year in February. About 5 months back I had an issue with my pickup selector, it was jammed. So I sent it to Ernie ball to get that fixed along with a string change (since It broke before I sent it in.) After I received my guitar though it's just been nothing but problems. in the last 5 months alone it flies out of tune whenever I slightly use the trem, and the strings have broken at least 4 times since I got it back. I keep having to getting the guitar tech i know to restring it and it's starting to cost me a lot of money. I'm getting so frustrated with how it's acting.

I didn't have any trouble until the 3 way switch got jammed and i got it back from EB. Anyone know what is wrong? Should I send it back again to Ernie ball? or just screw it and sell it?

I never had problems with any of the other JP models I've tried out at several guitar centers (played a JPx, JP6 mystic dream, JP7, hell even a JPX with a roasted neck, and a couple BFR models.) and I literally abused the living crap out of the tremolo systems with them and i would get no problems with them.

Hey welcome to the forum , your best bet is to get in touch with customer service , they are very good at what they do and I'm sure they will be able to help you out. Plus without seeing the guitar it would be hard for anyone here to figure out what is wrong with it. Good luck

Sorry to hear about your problems. Sure sounds very strange.

At least you live in California so easy to deal with the factory.... not so easy for us that are 6000 miles away or whatever.
Talk to EBMM CS & they will sort you out in no time I'm sure.

Cheers
Baz

Yea what he said. But why do you need a tech to change strings on the guitar when they break?

well I'm not very good with floating trems when it comes to restringing, I can do it myself, but it takes me ages. But I have taken it to him to try and fix the problem and everytime I get it back it works fine...until a string goes flat, then once i tune it the tuning goes completely stupid on me when I use the trem.

Just a thought - Has your tech "lubed" the nut slots? Any good tech would have done this, at least after return visits for the same problem (after determining that there is binding at the nut). A small amount of pencil dust, graphite lube, specialized nut lube or even Chap Stick have been tricks of the trade forever for guitars equipped with trems and no looking nuts.

What string gauge are you using? How long have you played? Do you have any other guitars?

Good luck.

You should definitely call the customer service guys, they'll give you the best advice.

On the string changes- this is definitely something you need to learn how to do. You have a high performance instrument there, and getting the most out of it requires learning to do a few things yourself- string changes, adjusting the truss rod, etc. Otherwise you're going to be banging your head against the proverbial wall too often.

Maybe the next time you take it to the tech, you can ask to watch? Or pay a few bucks and ask to be taught how to do it? It'll make your life a lot easier. This forum is a great reference, too.

I don't think that anyone reading this would think that it is a bash on you guys. There are too many questions about the user. All we know about the owner is that he doesn't change his own strings and he breaks strings often (I can't remember the last time i broke a string...). How experienced is he? Does he own other guitars which he has no problem tuning? Does he know how to tune properly? Not changing a single broken string encourages all kinds of questions.

Big Pops got it right...

Send it to CS, they will assist you, and you´ll be able to read dozens of great comments about them here in the board.

If your problem is as severe as it seems, then the best option is to send it to CS, instead than to a tech...

Good luck with it!
