Just kicking the idea around in my head about routing one of my Albert Lee guitars for P90 pickups. I thought it might be pretty easy to order the pickguard first, use that to trace the pickup cavities and then use my trusty little roto router to do the job. Sounds simple huh?! Well I suppose just getting another AL would be even easier but I would like to keep my wife too. Anyone ever do this? It is just an idea so if ya'll have any advice or suggestions or reprimands...LOL...shoot'em my way!

Dude sounds like something I'd never try to scared of trashing a perfectly good guitar.

I understand keeping the wife comment 100%!!

Here's a place that's got a AL with 3 P-90's looks pretty nice. This places knows how to take pictures of guitars!!!!

Don't really know about the prices, but it never hurts to check unless the wife finds out, sorry couldn't resist.

Anybody ever buy anything from them??

There are many options available that will get you closer to P90 tone without carving up your AL. Many pickup manufacturers such as Harmonic Designs offer single coil pickups that have all the attributes of P-90s.
