I tried the SV20 and didn’t like it at all. It sounded way too small, boxy, and sterile. I don’t care for Marshall’s current build quality either and wouldn’t trust them to last.I'd love to hear what you think of it when you've had more time to try it out. I've been wanting a proper Plexi for so long, but can't decide between an SV20, Suhr SL67, or one of the many Friedmans!
The Suhr amps are fantastic and share some dna with the Friedmans (John and Dave do a lot of tone talks together). The feature sets are slightly different and I think Suhr’s are turret board to Friedman’s pcb. I happen to prefer a high quality pcb because they’re actually more reliable and consistent. I also like the internally jumpered channels and selectable bright caps of the Friedman. Either way, they’re both killer amps that do a great job of very similar things.
