I tried the SV20 and didn’t like it at all. It sounded way too small, boxy, and sterile. I don’t care for Marshall’s current build quality either and wouldn’t trust them to last.
The Suhr amps are fantastic and share some dna with the Friedmans (John and Dave do a lot of tone talks together). The feature sets are slightly different and I think Suhr’s are turret board to Friedman’s pcb. I happen to prefer a high quality pcb because they’re actually more reliable and consistent. I also like the internally jumpered channels and selectable bright caps of the Friedman. Either way, they’re both killer amps that do a great job of very similar things.
