As a guitar amp mic? Just get a Sennheiser e609 off ebay. Best cheap guitar mic on the planet, gives the AEA R84 a run for it's money.

Ditto. Just recorded some great sounding tracks last night with the e609. Placed it 2" from the grill, just off center of the speaker...perfect!
