hi guys,
i own a Sil. Special with a fixed bridge.
my problem is, i wanna put heavy strings on it, but not increase the tension of the strings too much (thus allowing for ease of bending)
the usual way i have done this on my other guitars has been to take out a spring from the tremelo
but, this guitar has no cavity in the back to do this
how do u think i can go about doing this all?

thanx in advance :D

Heavier strings mean more tension. Try to find a gauge that is heavier than you currently use, but still feels comfortable. Or tune down.

Thanks,
Greg

heavier strings/tension help me play chords better, I'm always bending chords out of shape on light strung Gibbys'.

sometimes strings have different tensoins, for example d'addario strings are tighter than EB strings, so try a few different sets, also the more releif there is in the neck the looser the strings will be, so add a tad of relief in the neck-
