neck and mid (pos 4) are not using the silent circuit. so it's very strange PM me your Email address I should have a wiring diagram that I can send you.

Neck alone is using silent circuit

Make sure your battery is not too small as well with certain brand you can face a problem (had that problem with my silo spec). I use Duracell exclusively

I see that you also have an Albert lee p90 model. Did yours come with come with foam under the pickups? Mine were stick to the body of the guitar and wouldn't rise to get closer to the strings. I had to put foam under them to act as springs. How did they come from the factory?
Thanks in advance.

Sean

no foam, those pickup are not height adjustable, which is very fine for me :)

the AL MM90 is a terrific guitar, I'm so sorry you are facing such issues, hope it will be sorted out quickly.

Mine is very quite

You shouldn't have much noise in the in-between positions (neck & middle, middle & bridge). The Silent Circuit is canceled out there, but those positions are inherently noise canceling.

When you select single pickups (neck, middle or bridge) there should be some hum cancellation from the Silent Circuit. It will be better on one pickup than the others. You can tell if it's working by pushing/pulling the battery out of the battery box. You'll get a little pop when it engages and should should hear the difference.

If it's not working (no pop, no hum reduction), the battery could be bad, the terminals on the battery box could be bent (need to pry them up slightly so they make contact with the battery), or there could be a wiring issue.

If there is some hum reduction but not enough, there's a little set screw in the top of the Silent Circuit you can use to tune it in slightly. I usually do this in the playing position, adjust it until I get the maximum reduction. It's always set just right at the factory, but it sounds like somebody has messed with that guitar (the foam under the p'ups), so who knows what's gone on under the hood.

So ... if you're handy, have at it. If not, take it to a tech that knows EBMM for a look, or call CS for some advice.

so let me know your opinion about the pickups. why would there be no option to have them raise?

cause those pups are perfect directly from the factory, there is no need to raise them really.

the noise you are getting is not related to the pickup height, well I think :)

I took 2 pieces of med density foam and placed it under the pickup parallel to the row of screws. Works well.

I must agree with the auzzie. The AL with the p90s is a fantastic guitar. Theneck finish and the way it's set further into the body is something else! I got mine for $825!!! Is that a steal or what?

We need to see some pics of said guitar to be sure. :D

Albert Lees are great guitars. I have the standard 3-single coil model and I love it.
