I saw someone ask about one on a petrucci forum, what do you guys think?

Silhouette/ Silhouette Special BFR:
Figured top
Roasted neck
Stainless steel frets

What do you guys think would be a cool addition? What body wood? What BFR features from other lines?

They did have the Gold Top and the Anniversary, but I think this might inject new life into the silhouette line.

Based o what BP said a few monts ago it sounds like the Silhouette line is only there for historical reasons. shame but hey, if nobody orders 'em. I blame the signature artists, stealing the Silhouette thunder. :)

Anyway, if we're fantasizing, how about...

Alder body, mahogany toneblock, *ASH* top, Mary Kaye white finish, gold anodized pickguard, and a roasted maple neck with Pau Ferro board and the cool BFR dots from the 2012 honey roast PDN run.

or

Alder, mahogany tone block, and maple top with Morse-style transparent pickguard.

Thanks for playing along and adding to my spank bank. Compressed single coil through a fender amp spank, of course.

WHaaaat? :( I too would love a Silhouette BFR, and been waiting for one for a while...
I find the JP lacks sustain, and I don't like the switch and its layout on the Stingray. Morse has the Tune-o-matic... leaves the Cutlass (a nice guitar, but not a Silhouette).

I've played a couple of Silos and they were all the best sounding 'Strats' out there. A thicker sound, equally clear AND keeping the in-between positions. Huge fan.

The BFR L3 pretty much hit the nail on the head of what I wanted for the BFR Silo Spec.
