Hi all,
I want to purchase some Dimarzio pickups for my new Silhouette and was wondering what spacing should I get?

There is standard or F-spacing, and its always confused me. Plus I have heard that the F-spaced will be too narrow or too large or something...Any ideas?

Yep, the F stands for a big guitar brand. When people started to install humbuckers into their strats, it became obvious that the string spacing of the les paul guitars the humbuckers were taken from is narrower than that of a strat. Thus the pickup-manufactureres started to build humbuckers with wider spacing between the pole pieces to fit strat-style guitars. Dimarzio for example calls those pickups F-spaced, Seymour Duncan calls them trembuckers. The overall dimensions of standard and F-spaced pickups are the same.
Thats what the Dimarzio website says about string spacing in their FAQ-section:
F-spaced pickups measure 2.01" (51 mm) center-to-center from the first polepiece to the sixth. Standard-spaced pickups measure 1.90" (48 mm).
Cheers,
Mikey

edit: Just took a look at my silhouette and it has an F-spaced pickup in the bridge and standard in the neck position.
