Hey guys, I love my current stable of MM guitars, but am looking at adding to it, particularly a silhouette or silhouette special.

My questions are: how are the bodies of the Specials routed? Are they all HSS, or are the HSH like the regular silhouette? I’m asking because I have a set of pickups I want to put in (SD P-Rails on the outside and a Vintage Rails in the middle), so the routing may necessitate me looking for the full Silhouette.

Also, does anyone have a semi comprehensive list of which colors the Silhouettes and specials were offered in? I love my vintage turquoise stingray’s color, and would love to get another guitar in that color.

Thanks for any help!

So the Silo Specials are route like the pickups they come with, SSS is routed as is and HSS is routed as is.

As far as colors go what are you looking for? There are some great deals on Reverb on both Silo's and Silo Specials.

To the best of my knowledge Turquoise and Tahoe blue (on the Hunter Hayes Cutlass) were ever offered on the Silhouette Special. I remember there was blue pearl and carbon blue pearl, which were darker colors, teal pearl was somewhat greener, and a sky blue pearl which was much lighter.

Thanks!
I guess I need to look for the full silo then.

Teal pearl would be cool. I’ve seen carbon blue, and wouldn’t be against it, but not quite what I’m looking for.

It looks like they were offered in graphite pearl or Egyptian smoke. I remember drooling over those colors on late 00’s JP6s (ended up with my white pearl one though).

And so the hunt begins.

Sure there were a lot of colors. There is a Carbon Blue one with matching head stock on Reverb right now. Or you could get one in a beat up finish and have it painted to what you really want. Many refer to Marty Bell, and I've never seen anything he's done look bad, always great work.
