I have a Silver Silhouette Ser # G14929 and would like information on age and history. Obviously I would like to date the instrument and establish if it is still at the same build standard as when it left the factory.
This instrument has passed through the hands of several friends of mine (as these noisy pieces of wood oft' seem to) but was originally purported to be a custom shop Silhouette, made for EVH's guitar tech at the time - doubtless this will be a crock, but hey! It was a good story for a while there . . . . . . . . . .

Well I was able to find a little bit of info on this Silo. It was done on 5/09/01 and shipped to our UK distributor, Strings and Things. The color is Gunsmoke. There are some notes that indicate it had 2 MM90 pickups, and black pickguard and pearl tuners

All correct people

and just as soon as I get my photo transfer sorted from my antique Fuji, I will take some ( having said that, I may have photo's somewhere on the system of my mate playing it - we'll see . . .).
Thanks Aziah, it still has 2 MM90 pickups, black pickguard and pearl tuners I will give Nick and the boys a call and see what they can tell me, in fact I will text Nick, forthwith, haven't hear from him in a while . . . . .

Cheers Al:eek:

I have been looking into things surrounding this Silhouette and it was originally manufactured with a single humbucker, this was replaced with a new scratchplate and the MM90s (shipped to the UK for fitting) at the request of the buyer (EB/MM apparently took some convincing).
The spurious link to EVHs guitar tech is in fact due to the fact that Eddie thinks that Dudley Gimpel is the best guitar tech in the world and this particular guitar was assembled and set-up by Dudley (no wonder it plays as though it had been gently buttered).

It is alongside my Trans Purple Axis Sport G03847 2 Seymour Duncans
