Just wondering what pickup heights people are running there Silhouette Special SSH pickup heights at?

Set at 1/8th and 1/16th at the moment but not sure as it didn't arrive from the factory like this. they where alot lower especially on the bridge...

You can set them wherever you want really. Higher will give you more output, a bit more compression and sharper attack.
Too close and you can start to get clipping when using clean tones, and also you can lose sustain because the magnetic field of the pickup interferes with the strings (this is even worse with single coils because the polepieces are the magnets, and they're very close to the strings compared to a humbucker)

I'd start with the bridge pickup, put it basically as high as you can, then play it and keep lowering it until you find the 'sweet spot'. After that, set the middle and neck so that they have roughly the same output as the bridge pickup, or a bit less (being single coils, they will have a bit less output, so if you get them the same as the bridge pickup, they might be too close to the strings)

I've set mine quite low, I can't remember the specs off the top of my head and won't be home for a few days to measure. They are not high output pickups but they are cetainly not lacking and you can happily have them quite far from the strings without any problems.

What I did was to check out the DiMarzio FAQs for the "no closer than" specs and work from there till I was happy with the tones. The middle pickup is not used on it's own so I focused on the neck and bridge pickups and when I was happy with the 1, 3, and 5 positions I adjusted the middle pickup for the 2 and 4 sounds.
