Hi, I'm surprised I haven't seen more posts about the Silhouette on here. I have a lime green HSS Silo Special that I love. I play mostly "classic rock" type guitar tones, just the guitar and amp with a bit of break up, and the Silo Special does this wonderfully. But I was watching some footage of Keith Richards in the early 90's with a black HSH Silhouette (with the X-Pensive Winos), and the clean tones he was getting sounded freaking awesome. I saw another clip where he was getting a nice distorted sound, a rarity for him. On another he's getting a nice warm jazz tone. Anyway, I was wondering how these two guitars compare, because those videos really made me want a Silhouette in HSH. What does that second humbucker do for you? I'd also get another 2 frets. Too bad I can't seem to find one in a store around here.

I have a few Silos and i've got to tell ya that coming from strats for most of my playing life i have really found the extra humbucker(s) really deliver a whole new dynamic to my tone... with the 5 way switch you can split the coils and get some incredible tones as you've seen in the video...

all i can say is i love these guitars...

I love my new Silhouette, the 24 frets and cutaway give me access to a larger playground, and though some may beg to differ, I prefer the neck humbucking sound over a 22 fret guitar, as it is a little tighter and brighter. This position is perfect for slide playing. Positions 2, 3 and 4 give me all of the single coil loveliness my heart desires. I do miss having a single coil in the neck position though. Gamechanger some day?
