Trying to compare the Silhouette vs. Y2D and have a couple questions...

It looks like the Silhouette has a tabered body, so your right arm fits more comfortably while playing. Anyone know if this is also true on the Y2D?

Also, it says the Silhouette has a 10" neck radius vs. the Y2D that has a 12". I don't know how to read this, which one would have a thinner neck?

There are no body contours on the Y2D.

I'm no expert but I don't think the radius describes the thickness of the neck. I believe it describes the 'roundness' of the fingerboard.

Right, the Silhouette is contoured and the y2d is not.

The Silhouette has a slightly more rounded fretboard because of the 10" as opposed to 12" radius of the y2d. The bigger the radius, the flatter the fretboard.

The y2d has a thinner feeling (front to back) neck than the Silhouette. We've got both here if you feel like taking a drive this weekend ;)

I agree with Pete, go take them for a ride and he has as diverse an inventory as you will typically find in a shop. You can only get so much info asking questions, the answers of which are predominently subjective.

Plus what's better than leaving the house and saying - Hey I've got to go play guitars for a few hours - See Ya :D

Yessssirrreeee!
My boss is always mentioning Work/Life/Balance.

I tell her that I'm going into town to hang out with friends, drink some wine and play some guitar.
Aaaaahhhh nice !! - the balance bit gets a bit difficult later on though !

personally i find the silhouette much more comfortable, plus its lighter too. the slightly rounder fingerboard is more to my liking than the flatter Y2D neck, both guitars have similar neck feel, they are both kinda thin. the body contour on the silo fits very well to your body.

My Satch (JS1), was by far the most comfortable axe I've had, as there's not an edge anywhere on the body.

My Silo is as comfortable shape wise, but lighter.
Has better access to higher frets (all 24 of 'em).

Can't comment on the Y2D, but I'm sure Col will preach some good stuff.

From what I have read here, it is a more versatile axe, soundwise...... am I right ?

Played a Y2D at NAMM and thought it was great, the neck felt thinner front to back, I did not feel that big of a difference between the 12" and the 10" radius, but I got to say the Silo's contours feel better on my love handles.
