I am looking to buy an original Silhouette, or Silhouette Special with a factory installed Floyd Rose. Anyone who has one for sale or can direct me to one, please let me know! I am also interested in finding a Musicman Floyd by itself as well. Thanks!
 
When did EBMM stop offering Floyds on the Silos? I bought mine back in '97 and ordered it with a Floyd.

I am not really sure. I talked to my bud Tomas at EB, and he was not sure either. I already have one Sil w/Floyd, and a Sil Special w/Vintage Trem. I want to replace the Special with another Sil/Floyd. I am just blown away by the tome of the Floyd. It's not so much the dive-bomb thing, but the TONE! Whew!!! If I have to, I'll put a Floyd on the Special.
 
I am not sorry to inform you that none of the three silos with floyds that I own are for sale. I would like to share with you that one of my silos started life as a hard tail and I purchased a floyd thru a dealer and installed it. (Routing is scary) It's set up as a lowers pitch only but it works great. I even put a DTuna on it. Click the links for a pictures.

WOW! What a collection. My Silhouette/Floyd is Teal as well. Can you tell a difference in tone from the Musicman/Gotoh Floyd, and the genuine Floyd? I have heard the Gotoh's are fatter sounding. If I end up installing a genuine Floyd on my Special, I am going with the new "Pro" version. I am a bit hesitant going with a genuine Floyd though because of what others have said regarding it's supposed tinny sound. Since you have both, what do you think?....
 
I see. I thought the one you had installed was a real Floyd. So did you order the one on the black Sil from Musicman? How much?
 
A store near me called Musicains Workshop (Manalapan NJ) has a teal colored Silo with factory Floyd. (732) 972-1118
 
Thanks Vangit! I do appreciate the lead. I'll call them tomorrow and, if all goes well, purchase it! That'll give me a matching pair of Teal Sil/Floyds!:p

Yes. It was like $160 or so. it has been years.

I checked out the Silhouette at Musicians Workshop. Unfortunately, in the period of time I was waiting for pictures from them, the guitar suffered 2 serious dings from some kid in the store. Bummer. What was a mint condition guitar one day, became a dinged up guitar the next day. They are not willing to relax off the $800 bucks for it either. I guess I'll pass it up. I hate dinged guitars!! Thanks for the tip though! I'm still looking.
