Hi all,

A Silhoutte has just become available not far from where I live for a good price. It's on ebay but I can probably check it out personally over the weekend if I want. Here's the URL

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=3758127046&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT

I was wondering if you Silo experts can give me any advice based on what you can see. He says he's gigged it pro since '94 so I'm assuming it will be showing some playing wear but other than the obvious it looks pretty good.

The best price I have seen around my hometown for a secondhand Sil is $1600AUD so his start price is pretty good.

Any help much appreciated. I just have to figure out how to sneak this one into the house after the Axis I bought two weeks ago. I keep telling my wife you can never have too many guitars - kinda like her with shoes and handbags. :)

That is a nice guitar - it looks like a rare blueburst. What is the exchange rate for Australia ? I think I have seen Sils going for as low as $400 on e-bay, I bought mine brand new for $1000.00 U.S. back in '97 so I wouldn't pay more than $500 U.S. for a used one.

$500 US = $660 AUD. To give you guys an idea of the ridiculous prices we pay "Down Under".

A new Sil = $2795AUD = $2117US, that's from my local shop.

Music123 has them listed at $1071USD.

I've seen two used Silo's locally over the past 6 months one for $1600 AUD the other for $2000AUD.

Our taxes and import duty kill the prices.

Well, I can't vouch for the Kinman electronics that he has in there, but that thing looks dandy. Here's where I'll throw in my trademark "if I had the money, I'd snap it up myself". ;)

Wouldn't hurt to give her a once over if you can do it personally, that way you could feel better about it in the long run. :)
