hello EBMM players! i'm brand new here. i've been a long time PRS player, and this week i just acquired 2 new EBMM silhouettes, and now i'm seriously considering switching over full time. (and no, im most certainly not mr hiland! ;))

anyway, i am loving these guitars, with the exception of the center single coil pickup. coming from my PRS setups, i am used to a 5 way switch with an HH configuration. is it possible to rewire the stock pickups in this way with the stock switch?

i've been playing guitar for a while, and i've learned how to solder and make quick and easy repairs. however, i've never learned how these damn switches and pots work! any help would be appreciated!

You can fully re-wire the guitar to eliminate the middle single. (Or put it on a push-pull so you can mix it in if you ever want.)

However if you want to do anything fancy with the switching, you'll need a different 5-way selector than what's stock on the Silhouette (don't quote me, but I'm pretty sure).

One good option is the switching on the Axis Super Sport / HH AL, where you get either 'bucker, or parallel combinations of the different coils. If that appeals to you, best bet is to email EBMM CS and ask them for a wiring diagram for one of those guitars. Heck, you can even order the right 5-way switch from them while you're at it. Then just wire it up the same way.

Cheers.

I am not wild about the middle pickup on the Silo either, I think it would be great to leave everything as is, but in the middle position you get both HB's only....
