One of the main features of the Silo and Silo Special guitars is its exceptional ease of use when it comes to changing pickups configurations: unscrew the old guard - unclip - clip the new guard - screw the new guard - rock your socks off
Some of you Silo and Silo Special owners have leveraged that great feature to come up with really cool alternate configurations. However, although I spent some time using the search function, I didn't come across any information on passive / active swaps.
So here are my newbie questions:
Is a passive / active configuration swap difficult to achieve? I’m especially interested in what you have to say about the battery connections: are the power connections part of the clip, or is there any additional rewiring involved? Also, will an EMG SA/SA/85 configuration fit in a stock HSS guard for Silo Special?
I’d like to read / see any advice, pictures, thoughts that you may have on the idea.
Thanks all and Happy New Year!
