Silo & Silo Special, what's the difference?

Tonally they do sound different due to the 24 fret neck. The neck pickup is moved out of the sweet spot.

Do you prefer the 22 fret model then?

I have the Sil Spec SSS, and I have it for the sake of having Strat-type capabilities, minus the need to actually HAVE a Strat. :)

If you're looking for the same, and want to avoid the Strat route, that would be my suggestion.

Just my take, though...

Thats good advice thanks! I used to live in Scottsdale (Troon area)

Off topic, that's cool. :) I'm more south, a la Pima and Indian School.

On topic, it works. I searched high and low for a Sil Spec with the 3 single setup on the Bay. I had one last December nice purple sparkle, etc. just like what GWDavis has (if you were the one that got it GW, I will hunt you down LOL!), set my proxy bid, and was powernapping when the auction ended...lost out by $10, and I had another $100 I could've gone before I reached my ceiling!

Suffice it to say, upset does not describe how I felt... :(

Darrell, I wasn't the original winner of that one since I lost out in the last 20 seconds, but I did hunt down the dude that won it and pleaded with him. He finally sold it to me for $100 (cost of a new EBMM case on MF) over what he won it for during the auction, so my total was under $900 let's say. That one is a one of a kind color from the Casey Lee Ball Kidney Foundation a very worthy case that I commend EBMM for doing. I suffer from a kidney problem, so it was very fitting.

When I lost I was so depressed that Sil Spec was/is my dream guitar nothing will ever make me part with it. I get a little bit weepy everytime I take it out of the case.

I'm not sure that it was the one that you were bidding on I've had mine for a few years now.

Later, Glenn |B)
